Eczema put a stop to the dream education
It was a cry for help
When Emma registered for the Help my Skin Project, it was a cry for help. Severe eczema on her hands and arms meant that she couldn’t complete her dream education to become a baker because her damaged skin could not tolerate the frequent hand washing in the bakery.
At that time Emma was 20 years old and the dry, cracked skin on her hands felt so tight that it was difficult to stretch and bend her fingers. In the Help my Skin Project, Emma met Beauté Pacifique’s skin expert, Gitte, who scanned Emma’s skin and compiled a skincare programme that would get Emma’s skin back in balance so Emma’s skin would no longer limit her in daily life.
Watch here how it all went.
At the beginning of 2026, we invited Emma back to Hadsund (DK) for a follow-up on how her atopic eczema is going five years after the Skin Help course.
“It’s going really well. I feel as if I have brand new skin. I haven’t had cuticles for a year; they have come back now.”

The products that helped Emma
Our skin expert and consultant Gitte puts together a care program for Emma, which she will follow for the three months that Project Skin Help is running. Emma experiences great effects from the products, which include moisturizing care for both the face and body.

Follow-up with Emma – 5 years after the Skin Care programme – Hudhjælp
After about five years, we invited Emma back for a chat about how her skin is doing today and to what extent eczema affects her daily life. Our consultant Gitte, who also helped and guided Emma through the Skin Care Program, is reviewing the situation with Emma.
When we met Emma on the Skin Care programme – Hudhjælp, she was a young girl whose life was greatly affected by atopic eczema, which kept her awake at night, affected her self-confidence and almost forced her to give up her dream of training to be a baker.
“Back then, eczema had an extreme impact on my everyday life. I often cried myself to sleep because I was in so much pain, and because it itched and burned.
I was also facing something of an identity crisis, as I had always wanted to be a baker, and suddenly I had eczema which put me at risk of infection if I continued”.
Gitte asks about Emma’s hands, which had been severely affected by dryness, cracks, itching and redness. It’s a beaming Emma who stretches out her hands and lets Gitte see and touch them, saying: “they’re doing fantastically well”.
Gitte is of course curious and asks what Emma uses to keep her hands so wonderfully soft:
“My absolute favourite product will always be skin fix. It really is that miracle cream that brought me back.”
Treatment of Emma’s eczema – is it still working?
We’re very excited to hear how Emma’s skin is doing today. Fortunately, she is very happy and comfortable and can talk about her new day-to-day life.
“Today, everyday life is completely different, and I’m eczema-free. I may have a maximum of two flare-ups a year and some eczema or hives, and it takes a day or two to get over it. But most days I’m completely free from eczema”.
When Emma was part of the Skin Care programme – Hudhjælp, she was recommended a simple routine with few products.
Creme Metamorphique: Even though it is a night cream for adults, Gitte chose to put Emma on this vitamin A cream simply to strengthen the skin and the skin barrier.
Body Lotion, dry and irritated skin: A light but ultra-potent moisturiser for the entire body. It is a really good body lotion for dry skin, as it can improve moisture levels by 65% after just 30 days of use. In the first video we also hear that Emma senses relief shortly after applying.
X-tra Dry Skin Fix: The cream that has become Emma’s favourite product, which can be used all over the body and quickly makes the skin less red, itchy and dry.
La Forte: Our collagen-boosting dietary supplement helps strengthen the skin from within and increase the skin’s water-binding properties, enabling it to retain moisture more effectively. Emma started by taking 5 but after three months she was down to the normal 2 tablets a day.
Moisturising mask: This one isn’t featured in the video, but it’s become a staple in Emma’s repertoire. She uses it twice a week and notices a huge difference.
For me, it was completely unthinkable that I would ever be free from eczema.
Over the years, Emma has visited our consultants for an ultrasound scan and had her routine checked to see if anything needed adjusting.
The last time she was there, there were just some minor product changes.
“About a year ago at an event in Salling, I had a skin scan, which was so good that it showed that I could switch to the SuperFruit series, which is the youth series. It was a huge confidence boost to be told that my skin was actually feeling so good that I could be on that youth series – the lighter series”.
The fact that Emma has switched to the Superfruit series for young skin does not change the fact that she continues to use X-tra Dry Skin Fix, Body Lotion and La Forte – just as the moisturising mask is a regular part of her weekly routine.
Finally, we ask Emma how the treatment of her eczema has affected her everyday life, to which she answers without hesitation:
The “Skin Care programme has had a huge impact on me because I found myself again. When I suffered from eczema, I completely lost my identity in every way, and now I’ve regained it. The confidence that came with it and actually feeling again that I was a pretty young girl and that I could show myself off and didn’t need to cover myself up.
It’s great to have Emma back and hear how she’s doing today. It’s clear that Atopic Eczema will always be a part of her life, but with the right products she can keep it under control and minimise flare-ups.
There is a clear difference between the Emma who cautiously came to the Skin Care programme – Hudhjælp and revealed her troubled skin, and the confident and self-assured girl we meet today, who has control over her skin and, not least, knows what to do when the flare-ups occur so that they don’t take over.
“Most days, I also find that looking in the mirror and seeing my own skin is a real pleasure because now it’s so beautiful.”
